Telemundo Utah / KULX announced today that Cindy Bernal has been named News Anchor for the station’s weekday 5PM and 10PM newscasts. Beginning on December 16, Bernal will join weather anchor Lorena Lim, Sports anchor Enrique Corona and reporter Rudy Nieves to deliver the latest breaking news and information for Spanish-speaking viewers in the state of Utah.

“Cindy is an excellent journalist with vast experience who understands the importance of local news,” said Noe Gonzalez, Telemundo Utah News Director. “For years she has had the opportunity to connect with viewers, telling their stories, now she will lead everyday news coverage from the anchor’s desk, going above and beyond to dig deeper and present the story behind the story.”

Bernal joins to Telemundo Utah after two years at Telemundo Boston where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor for their Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra newscast. Previously, Bernal worked as a reporter at Estrella TV in Los Angeles where she won two Golden Mikes from RTNA of Southern California.

Bernal graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
