Festival Season at The Gateway

The Gateway once again celebrates the start of the fall season with its signature art and culture festivals. Urban Arts Festival will kick it off over Labor Day weekend, followed by Hispanic Heritage Parade & Street Festival, Festa Italiana, Hive Market, and Frida Festival, an event that debuted last year. All these community events are free to attend and family friendly. Urban Arts Festival, September 2 to 3

Saturday, Noon to 10:00 p.m.

Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The Urban Arts Alliance presents this annual celebration of urban and artistic culture for the community, art lovers, and families. The festival features art, vendors, music, dance, live street art demonstrations, computer arts, and more. 

Hispanic Heritage Festival, September 9

11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month with Utah’s annual Hispanic Heritage Parade and Street Festival. This event kicks off with an exciting community parade at 11:00 a.m. with members of the Hispanic communities, organizations, and political parties representing different Hispanic countries. There will also be food vendors (Colombian, Mexican, Venezuelan, Peruvian, Bolivian, and more), adult beverages, local artisans, dance performances, live music, and other family-friendly entertainment!

Festa Italiana, September 16 to 17

Saturday, Noon to 10:00 p.m.

Sunday, Noon to 7:00 p.m.

Last year, more than 40,000 people attended this Italian heritage celebration presented by the Italian-American Heritage League of Utah. The eighth annual Festa Italiana will provide locals with an authentic Italian street festival experience that is prevalent in many other cities across the country. Highlights of the festival include more than a dozen local Italian restaurants serving unique and authentic Italian food, performances by Italian musical artists, beer and specialty Italian wine, Italian car show, and local and Italian artist showcases.

The Makers Hive Market, September 23 and October 14

11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This varied market provides a fun and unique shopping experience that features local and small business owners from all over Salt Lake City. Vendors include those of all backgrounds with a passion for creating. The Market also includes live music, arts & crafts for the kids, complimentary face painting from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and plenty of photo ops.

Frida Fiesta, September 30

4:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Celebrate famed Mexican artist Frida Kahlo! Enjoy drinks from Flanker, and food from ever-popular restaurants at The Gateway.
