The summer season begins with a sizzle as The Gateway welcomes a wide range of events in June and early July. The community is welcome to join the fun.
June 19, Noon-9:00 p.m.
Now a recognized national and Utah State holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, Juneteenth will be commemorated at The Gateway with Salt Lake Juneteenth, a free community event. This family-friendly celebration of resilience and joy will include a Black-Owned Business Expo as vendors for the event, art exhibit, food trucks, music, entertainment, kids’ corner, storytelling, roller skating, barber battle, and more.
June 21, 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Join us for a special edition of The Gateway’s Weekly Sunset Yoga classes led by Princesse DesRose with beats by DJ Drew as we celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21. Starting at 6 p.m., guests can grab a refreshing beverage from The Gateway’s pop-up bar, which features a selection of beers from Proper Brewing, as well as a selection of cocktails and wines available for purchase. Attendees can then explore the offerings of our pop-up vendors, including Z Nectar Sampling, W.O.S.B apparel, aura readings, and a rejuvenating sound bath experience. All activities, including the one-hour practice commencing at 8 p.m., are free and open to individuals of all ages and abilities.
Tequila Highway Aid Station + Beer Mile By Borderlands Trail Running
June 24, 4:00-7:00 p.m.
The local trail-running community is invited to The Gateway for the day to party and run a mile while drinking beer at each quarter mile along the way. Wrap up your Saturday/Sunday long run, relax, and get acquainted with other runners. Spectators are welcome to attend and cheer on the racers.
July 4, 6:00-10:00 p.m.
Serving up one of the only local celebrations on the 4th, The Gateway invites the community to celebrate its independence on The Plaza. Classic American fare will be available from favorite Gateway bars and restaurants as well as served at the event. Two stages will be set up for live entertainment. Live music and DJs will appear on The Plaza Stage while Karaoke will be available on the South stage. Join the fun with yard games, face painting, photo ops, and contests throughout the day on the main stage. The evening will culminate with fireworks at 10:00 p.m.

First Thursday of the month (July 6 and August 3), 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Join Repertory Dance Theater for fun, no-pressure, free dance classes. A different dance style will be taught each month at the Plaza Stage. Classes are open to any age and level and offer the perfect activity to express your creativity and dance.
The July class will be Guinea, West African, and Bollywood will be the August class.
