Hospitality employees are key to the success of Salt Lake’s visitor economy and, once again, we will be honoring the stars of the tourism industry by hosting the second annual SALT awards on Thursday, June 15th at the Janet Quinney Lawson Capitol Theatre.
These awards celebrate hospitality workers that exemplify service, accomplishment, leadership and tenacity (SALT), with categories in the lodging and dining industries as well as an award that encompasses those involved with attractions, venues, caterers and transportation. New this year will also be a “Best Boss” award for general managers, owners or executive level positions.
Each award recipient will be recognized with an engraved SALT crystal award and $1,000 (with the exception of the Best Boss awardee, who will have the opportunity to have $1,000 donated in their business’s name to the charity of their choice).
“We’re so proud of our hospitality workers in Salt Lake County,” said Kaitlin Eskelson, president & CEO. “They’re on the front lines every day and really are the backbone of our visitor economy. This is a great way to honor our colleagues by celebrating their service to our community.”
Nominees must embody one or more of the four pillars of the SALT Awards: service, accomplishment, leadership or tenacity. Nominations may be made through May 15 HERE.
If there is a nominee who stands out for exemplary service, a “surprise” 6th Award for a “Spirit of Hospitality” will be bestowed.
Nominations are encouraged to be submitted by fellow employees and/or management to acknowledge those who have truly gone above and beyond in the past year. Sponsorships are available.
Last year’s event attracted over 200 of the hospitality industry’s best and brightest, and Visit Salt Lake expects even more attendees this year to enjoy an evening of food and beverage, surprise entertainment and most importantly, the opportunity to celebrate and recognize the stars of our hospitality community.
