Salt Lake City Arts Council’s Public Art Program Announces Artist Selected for the 2023-2025 Salt Lake City Public Art Pre-Qualified Artist Pool

Salt Lake City Arts Council

The Salt Lake City Public Art Program is excited to announce the artists selected for the 2023 -2025 Salt Lake City Public Art Pre-Qualified Artist Pool, a juried list of 48 professional artists and artist-led teams based in Utah. The purpose of the Pool is to support our local community of artists by integrating more artwork and artistic elements into the urban landscape and help facilitate the selection of artists for public art and other special commission opportunities from the Salt Lake City Arts Council’s Public Art Program. Because the list of artists in the Pool is a publicly available community resource, other commissioning agencies, private developers, local businesses, curators, Salt Lake City divisions and departments, cultural workers, and community members may take a look at these artist and use this list as a jumping off point for their own commissions and other opportunities.

The artists selected work in an array of mediums and creative processes, including: architecture, ceramic, design, digital media, fiber art, glass, graphic art, installation, light, mixed media, mosaic, mural, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, immersive experiences, video and others. Artists on the 2023-2025 Salt Lake City Public Art Pre-Qualified Artist Pool were selected by members of the Salt Lake Art Design Board, a seven-member citizen advisory group appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council to oversee the Salt Lake City Public Art Program. Applicants were reviewed on their originality, skill, diversity, and professional history. The Pool is refreshed every three years.

The Salt Lake City Public Art Program has compiled a comprehensive PDF complete with each artist’s bio, preferred medium, images of work, and contact information. To access this 2023 – 2025 Salt Lake Public Art Pre-Qualified Artist Pool roster, visit http://saltlakepublicart.org/artist-pool/.
