Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts & Parks (ZAP) Accepting Grant Applications

Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts, and Parks Program to Distribute $2.7 Million

Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts and Parks (ZAP) is now accepting Tier II grant applications for arts and cultural funding in 2023. Applications will be accepted from March 1 at 8:00 AM through April 28 at 5:00 PM.

The ZAP grant program funds programmatic and operational costs for eligible Salt Lake County-based arts and cultural nonprofits. Organizations with 501(c)3 status that provide arts and/or cultural experiences to the public of Salt Lake County may be eligible. Organizations who have not previously received ZAP funding and are interested in applying should contact ZAP staff at 385.468.7058 to discuss eligibility.

An in-person application assistance workshop will be held on Friday, March 10, at 10:00 AM at the Mid-Valley Performing Arts Center in Taylorsville. An online version will be held on Tuesday, March 14 at 10:00 AM. Interested organizations can access the workshop signup, grant information and the Tier II application at www.ZAPisYou.org/tier-ii.

In 2022, the ZAP Tier II program disbursed $2.7 million among 187 arts and cultural nonprofits that provide public programming within the County, including eight new grant recipients.

###Salt Lake County Zoo, Arts & Parks program facilitates community supported arts, culture, and recreation grants. Grants are funded by one cent of every $10 of sales tax collected in the County. ZAP grants provide partial support for more than 200 county arts and cultural organizations, and 30 parks and recreational facilities.
