Skijoring Utah Returns To Heber Valley This January 27-28, 2023

Skijoring Utah, a world-class event featuring horse, rider, and skier (or boarder), is returning to Heber Valley on January 27th and 28th at a new location, the Wasatch County Events Center. Come watch these athletes compete as we merge Utah’s legendary ski heritage with its authentic cowboy roots.

Utah Skijoring is an action-packed competition where a horse and rider pull a skier or boarder as swift as possible through a tight course that includes gates, jumps, and rings. The Skijoring Utah event is a wild, fast-paced and spectacular event. Competitors race for buckles, cash, and prizes based on the fastest times. This two-day event is open to spectators. VIP and General Admission event spectator tickets are on sale for both days. The venue location will also feature food trucks, local vendors, demonstrations, and more.

“This unique event is a great blend between popular snowsports and cowboy culture. Utah has a strong ski legacy andarichhistoryofaWesternwayoflifethat it makes this eventaperfectfit.AndHeber Valleyis anideal locationto host this event,” said Joe Loveridge, owner of RMO Horses and co-founder of Skijoring Utah.

Participants pay a small registration fee to compete. Each team gets two attempts to compete and complete the course. Big Air competitors get two jumps during the competition. Those new to the sport can register to compete in the “Rec-Novice” category. There will be a competitor registration social on Thursday, January 26th. Competitions begin at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 27th, and 10:00 am on Saturday, January 28th.
