AQUA TERRA Steak + Sushi, a brand new imaginative and curated dining experience, is set to debut shortly in Salt Lake City this fall.
The striking 11,000-square-foot space will be opening its doors at City Creek Center on Dec. 1. AQUA TERRA Steak + Sushi is an original culinary concept created and operated byAscend Hospitality Group (AHG), a Black-and-female-led restaurant group with locations in Utah, Washington, Oregon, and Arizona.
“At AQUA TERRA Steak + Sushi, we offer crafted dining experiences that pay homage to regional proteins, honor our past, innovate our present, and inspire the future of curated dining,” said AHG CEO and President Elaina Morris. “We cannot wait to dig our roots deeper into the culinary arts scene here and bring what we believe is a new standard of cuisine to Salt Lake City.”
The restaurant’s alluring lounge atmosphere, with an eye-catching sushi bar nestled in the heart of the location, along with a gorgeous private dining room and a “tree room” with peekaboo view into the grill, is sure to delight a local foodie’s visual attention. The Art Deco-inspired design elements, accented with murals by local artists and lauded Seattle muralist Dozfy, will be dazzling and inviting.
The wide-ranging menu of entrees, desserts, and cocktails is just as inventive and captivating. Highlights of the offerings include:
· Six crispy rice selections – a buzzy new sushi trend – showcasing salmon belly, hamachi, and more in addition to contemporary house sushi rolls.
· Vast nigiri and traditional sashimi menu featuring salmon from the Faroe Islands, Ahi tuna from the Fiji Islands, and o-toro (fatty tuna) from Spain — flown in fresh daily
· Premium steak cuts served a la carte, from a Kansas City Bone-in New York and Filet Mignon to a massive 30-ounce Tomahawk Rib Eye
· Sumptuous Bison Filet and Elk Tenderloin topped with foie gras
· Seasonal Pacific Northwest Salmon
· House cocktail specialties like the bright and gin-based Garden Party, smoked bourbon-made Fire in the Hole, and Japanese Maiden featuring sake, gin, and sparkling wine
· Signature desserts like the Flaming Donut Tree and the Mak-n-Jax’s Milkshake Bar, named for Morris’ children
The AQUA TERRA team is proudly led by two Salt Lake City-area hospitality veterans, general manager Jorge Coelho and executive chef Daniel Lindner, who are eager to offer a unique culinary concept in this burgeoning food scene.
“For us, every single guest touchpoint matters—from the custom-made lights over the sushi bar to the precise plating of our dishes and our dedicated and knowledgeable team,” Coelho says. “We have been working hard to create a memorable experience for our guests unlike any other.”
