Good Company Theatre Announces New Dates For The Two-Character Play

Good Company Theatre presents psychological thriller The Two-Character Play by renowned American dramatist Tennessee Williams.

Siblings Clare and Felice are stuck in the middle of nowhere after their acting troupe abandoned them on the road. In a dank and squalid room they squabble about whether or not to perform The Two-Character Play when an audience shows up. Or does one? As the two slip in and out of reality it becomes clear that their performance has far more sinister origins.

Arguably no one is as good at building paranoid tension as Tennessee Williams was,” explains Good Company Theatre Co-Director Alicia Washington. “This intense play gives distorted meaning to the phrase ‘family drama.’”

The Two-Character Play is a pandemic play, even though it was written over 50 years ago,” acknowledges Co-Director Camille Washington. “A sister and brother caught in swirling isolation, dipping in and out of sanity feels very prescient for current times.”

The play is directed by Teresa Sanderson (Tragedy Averted, Marie Antoinette). It stars Natalie Keezer (Caroline, Or Change, The Weyward Sisters) as Clare, and Jesse Nepivoda (Gloria, Constellations) as Felice.

The Two-Character Play is 100 minutes with a 10 minute intermission. There is gendered and racial language, and discretion is advised for audiences under age 13. In-person tickets are $25 online at goodcotheatre.com or at the box office 30 minutes before showtimes. Streaming price is $40. Patrons are required to present proof of vaccination. Photos of documentation will not be accepted. Staff and audiences are required to wear protective face masks while at Good Company Theatre, including throughout performances and in all common areas.
The play runs in person January 28 – February 6, 2022, Fridays-Saturdays at 8:00pm and Sundays at 4:00pm. Doors open 30 minutes before the beginning of the show. The show will be available to stream February 11-13, 2022. Good Company Theatre is located at 2404 Wall Avenue, Ogden, Utah, 84401.
