National Ability Center Announces Annual Red, White & Snow

The National Ability Center, a leading non-profit organization that provides world-class adaptive recreation and outdoor adventures for individuals and families with differing abilities, announced the return of its annual Red, White & Snow fundraising event presented by Vail EpicPromise and NuView Life Sciences. The festival will begin on Thursday, March 3, and run through Saturday, March 5.

“For 18 years the Red, White & Snow event has given us the opportunity to share the mission of the NAC through a series of fun, exciting events that bring together the Park City community as well as visitors from across the country,” said Danny Glasser, CEO of the National Ability Center. “This incredible event has been made possible through the years because of our volunteers, wineries, chefs and partners and we continue to be amazed by their support and generosity.”

On Thursday, March 3, the event series kicks off with Uncorked, at Stein Eriksen Lodge. This intimate gathering will highlight tastings of over 32 vintners’ favorite wines that attendees will be able to sample while they enjoy hors d’oeuvres and live music.

Friday, March 4 begins with Wine on the Mountain, an exclusive slope-side tasting and lunch après ski party, at 12:30 p.m. at the AAA Five Diamond mountainside retreat St. Regis Deer Valley. Guests are encouraged to wear their best vintage ski gear and have the opportunity to participate in a costume contest. At this event, vintners showcase their newest releases or classic favorites for attendees to taste along with delectable cuisine. A highlight of Red, White and Snow, Friday evening’s Vintner Dinners welcomes attendees into private homes throughout the Park City area as vintners and chefs curate specialty dishes paired with exquisite wine. During the evening, a National Ability Center participant or volunteer will visit each dinner and share their personal experience of discovering possibilities through our unique programs.

Finally, on Saturday, March 5, the black-tie Gala Dinner and Auction, hosted by prominent adaptive athlete Vasu Sojitra, will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the Montage Deer Valley. The evening includes sommeliers’ top wine selections and flavorsome cuisines as well as an opportunity for vintners to intermingle with attendees at each table and offer education on the wine options. Following the dinner and auction, the festivities continue at the After Party in the Empire East Room to dance the night away to the sounds of DJ Dolph. Specialty cocktails and delectable desserts will ensure the festivities last well into the night.

This year’s honorary partners are as follows:

  • 2022 Honorary Chairpersons: Chuck and Colleen Heath (A former president of the board of the NAC)
  • 2022 Honorary Vintner: Venge Vineyards and Croix Estate (Kirk Venge)
  • 2022 Honorary Chef: Clement Gelas of Courchevel Bistro and Talisker Club

As a signature event, the funds raised at Red, White & Snow will continue to support the National Ability Center in the execution and development of programs for the thousands of individuals of all abilities and their families that they assist annually. Thanks to the generosity of partners and guests, Red, White & Snow helps the National Ability Center spread its mission each year while ensuring that 100% of requests for financial program scholarship can be fulfilled.

Due to COVID-19, all guests must show proof of full vaccination or a negative test within the past 72 hours to attend.
