Seeking Volunteers For the 13th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival

Craft Lake City is seeking volunteers to assist in organizing the 13th Annual DIY Festival. The DIY Festival is Utah’s largest local-centric, three-day arts festival, with over 300 local artisans, DIY engineers, vintage vendors, and craft food creators, Kid Row youth entrepreneurs, our Google Fiber STEM Building, two stages featuring over 50 music and dance performances, local food trucks, our Harmons VIP Lounge, and approximately 20,000 attendees. This year’s programming is the largest to date, including new features including the Best Friends Save Them All Dog Park and Pacific Island Heritage Month Day exhibitions. The DIY Festival will be held at the Utah State Fairpark from Friday August 13 through Sunday August 15.

Craft Lake City is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to educate, promote and inspire local artisans while elevating the creative culture of the Utah arts community through science, technology and art. The DIY Festival is Craft Lake City’s flagship event, providing local entrepreneurs and artisans with a platform to share their art and launch their businesses. When you volunteer at the DIY Festival, you help support the local creative economy while meeting like-minded people and having fun!

“Volunteers are an integral part of the Craft Lake City DIY Festival and are vital to the success of our Festival,” said Angela H. Brown, Executive Director of Craft Lake City. “Without the volunteer help from our community, our Festival simply would not exist.”

Craft Lake City is seeking volunteers to assist with a variety of vital festival operations, such as helping direct artisan load-in and load-out, leading kids’ crafts at the Kids’ Area Leave Your Mark Park Presented By Mark Miller Subaru, participating in the Festival green team and more. Volunteer scheduling is flexible, and includes participant perks like free festival access, food and beverage vouchers, a commemorative Craft Lake City t-shirt courtesy of Huge Brands Apparel and entry into special event volunteer raffles. Craft Lake City loves working with volunteers because of the dedication they exemplify in championing the local arts. Beyond doing good for their community, volunteers also have the opportunity to discover newfound passions and make lifelong friendships working for a cause. Visit craftlakecity.com/volunteer to learn more about the different roles at the Festival and to apply as a volunteer.
