New Live Streaming Video Workshop: Brush Lettering with Betsy Goodman

Craft Lake City is pleased to announce a new Brush Lettering Live Streaming Video Workshop taught by local artisan Betsy Goodman on Thu., Feb. 18 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

From the comfort of home, attendees can follow along on Zoom as artisan Betsy Goodman guides them through the process of basic brush lettering. Workshop attendees will learn how to properly use a brush pen, practice basic strokes, learn how to make consistent and legible letters, and discover how to add simple decorative elements to lettered words. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the instructor in real time, gaining feedback and guidance throughout the process as they make a lettered print with a phrase of their choosing to display at home.  

Pre-registration and a workshop fee of $39 is required to participate. Ticket price includes a workshop supply kit featuring a brush lettering workbook, a brush pen, a frame, a pencil, tracing paper and print paper. Limited spots are available. Workshop tickets can be purchased online at craftlakecity.com/workshops.

The brush lettering supply kits will be available for pickup on Tue., Feb. 16 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. or Wed., Feb. 17 from 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Craft Lake City offices, 230 South 500 West Ste. 125 SLC, UT, 84101. Delivery is not available for the supply kits.  Attendees will need a computer or tablet with internet connection at home and a clean work surface.  

Artisan Betsy Goodman is a mama, designer and lettering artist. She has dabbled in lettering since a teen, but really started focusing on it in the last few years. It has become a part of her everyday life and played an instrumental role in healing from postpartum depression and anxiety. She is passionate about providing support and encouragement to postpartum mamas through her faith-based hand-lettered art. She believes that no matter who you are or what you’re going through, you can use lettering as a tool to deal with the struggles and stress of life.
