Tuacahn announces 2021 season

Tuacahn is thrilled to announce that not only is the 2021 Broadway season happening — it’s going to be bigger than ever.

Expanding to feature four outdoor shows and three indoor productions over the course of the year, Tuacahn’s 25th anniversary celebration will truly be something to remember.

The exciting outdoor lineup features Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and Annie, both opening in early May in the Tuacahn Amphitheater, along with the The Count of Monte Cristo and School of Rock opening in mid-July.

Inside the Hafen Theatre, three professional productions will take place beginning in February with a tribute to the golden age of rock and roll with the longest running musical revue in Broadway history: Smokey Joe’s Café. Then, during the summer season, step into the air-conditioned comfort of the indoor theater for the jaw dropping talent-filled Million Dollar Quartet. Tuacahn will wrap up the season with the musical version of the popular “you’ll-shoot-your-eye-out” holiday classic, A Christmas Story.

“We are excited to get back and have a great year,” says Scott Anderson, artistic director for Tuacahn. “Theater is such an important part of Southern Utah. I think a lot of people are pulling for us to open up.”

The loyalty of Tuacahn patrons has reached new heights during this pandemic, as evidenced by more than 80 percent of season package holders opting to keep their tickets for the 2021 season rather than asking for a refund.

“It’s amazing when people see what is going on in our community and just step up to help,” Anderson says.

Although there are still several question marks regarding what the health and safety regulations will look like during the 2021 season, Tuacahn officials are confident they can meet the challenges and provide a safe environment where people can get back to celebrating the arts.

“We’re going to prepare for success and hope for the best,” Anderson says.

Renewal packages are on sale now and new season packages go on sale in early November with options for bundling all four outdoor shows, all three indoor shows, or a complete seven-show season package. Log onto www.tuacahn.org or call 435-652-3300 for show dates, ticket pricing and details.
