Starting today, downtown Salt Lake City will be home to Carson Kitchen, a restaurant offering a versatile menu of comfort food classics and celebratory cocktails. The new space, located next door to AC Hotel, is offering dine-in as well as takeout options seven days a week. This will be the third location for Carson Kitchen, originally founded by Cory Harwell in Las Vegas in 2014.
“I fell in love with Salt Lake City a few years ago while traveling with friends and knew immediately it would be a great fit for Carson Kitchen,” said founder and chef Cory Harwell. “The energy, vibe and connectivity here aligns perfectly with what Carson Kitchen is. We are thrilled to connect to our new community and home.”
Harwell draws much of his inspiration from the meals his grandmother cooked while growing up in Woodstock, Georgia. These reconstructed home recipes have been able to connect people all around the country, and Salt Lake is no exception. Guests of Carson Kitchen can expect Southern influences in the menu, while fine dining items such as caviar and foie gras have been introduced in a comfortable and familiar way. The menu is a blend of old and new favorites and is constantly being innovated.
General manager David English says he shares Harwell’s vision for hospitality. “It’s something you feel when you walk in the front door,” says English. “We really do care about each guest. We’re here to make you feel at home. That commitment is absolutely what makes Cory unique in this industry.”
Harwell’s goal for this restaurant is simple: “To create a place where you can come in once a week with your friends to hang out and try some new things. Carson Kitchen isn’t for celebrating your anniversary with a $100 bottle of wine. It’s for celebrating Tuesday.”
During these uncertain times, guests’ health and safety have been carefully considered and factored into the opening of this location. An extensive health plan has been constructed and will be implemented when Carson Kitchen opens in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
Carson Kitchen is located at 241 W 200 S and serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.
