The Salt Lake Unity Fest will be held December 12-15, 2019 at the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Fest is a multi-day event uniting the LGBTQ+ community and our allies, through sports and exclusive events. This annual festival will feature sport competitions and fun nightly events that will showcase the best of Salt Lake’s urban amenities.

At the inaugural event, pickleball, basketball, dodgeball, bowling, roller derby and trivia will debut. Competition is open to anyone age 18 or older. Participants may register as an individual or as a team for any of the nine sporting events. Registration begins at just $50. More information can be found at: https://www.saltlakeunityfest.com/register. Registration is still open, and people don’t need to be LGBTQ+ in order to participate. Walk up registrations will also be welcome.

Sports Festivals are popping up all over the country and the LGBTQ+ Community deserves to be introduced to an incredibly welcoming, inclusive, and urban city that can host a sports fest,” saysMichelle McCardell, event organizer.

Each night, community events will take place at the Salt Palace to raise money to benefit local LGBTQ+ organizations. The benefitted organizations include Encircle, the Utah Pride Center, Stonewall Sports SLC, and Queer Spectra Arts.

Thursday Dec. 12 is the Opening Kickoff Party at 7:30 p.m. with a concert by Foreign Figures, Charlie Bird (the former BYU Mascot),  Wiltavious and Teillani. On Friday, December 13, A free family game night is offered 7-10 p.m. with a drag show starting 9 p.m. Options include a $10 bar bus at 8:30 p.m. with three hours of transportation from the Salt Palace to TwistThe Sun Trapp and Try-Angles. Saturday, December 14 features a DJ dance night from 8 – 11 p.m. with drag performances at 9 and 10 p.m. and cost is just $5. Tickets for these exclusive nightly events can be purchased at: https://www.saltlakeunityfest.com/schedule.
